Research Guides

Research Guides are self-paced research tools created for different subjects, topics and courses. The goal is to provide help with:

  • Searching for and finding information
  • Determining academic quality of information
  • Critically evaluating information
  • MLA or APA research methods
  • Resources from the library's collection and online databases

Interlibrary Loan

This is a service in which library users may borrow books from other libraries, usually for free.

  • Before submitting requests, try searching your library's catalog and online resources.
  • Request items early so they can arrive in time to complete assignments.
  • A library card is required to request and checkout items.
  • Once an item arrives, users are notified and have one week to pickup items.

CCards
  • All library users must obtain a  CCard to checkout items
  • CCC Student IDs are library cards
  • Available to Cleveland Community College students, faculty, and staff
  • Users must present a photo ID
  • $5.00 replacement fee for lost ID cards

  • 10 item (any combination) checkout limit
  • 3 week checkout period for books
  • 2 day checkout for DVDs
  • Overdue items or items requested by other users are not renewable
  • DVDs are renewable under special circumstances
   
Library Fees
  • 10 cents a day per book
  • 1 dollar a day per DVD and reserve items
  • Users are billed for the cost of lost or damaged items plus a processing fee
  • Unpaid fines block further checkouts, course registration, final grades and transcript requests

 

   
Cell Phone Use
  • Have cell phones on vibrate or no sound
  • Cell phone use is not allowed in the library
  • If we hear it ring we will ask you to take it outside the library.

  • Drinks in bottles or cups with lids and vending snacks can be brought into the Library. Please leave no trace.
  • A student lounge is located just outside the library where you may enjoy your meals.
   
Library Etiquette (Common Sense Behavior)
  • Be aware and respectful towards students, staff, faculty and other library users.
  • Keep conversations limited to the Collaboration level and use quiet voices. Extended conversations should be taken outside the library. Study rooms are also available for group work. See Library Support Desk for help
  • No profanity or disrespectful language
  • Keep a low volume when using headphones or ear buds
  • Walk, don't run, in the library to prevent accidents
  • Do not gather in large, socially disruptive groups
  • Do not leave personal belongings unattended. The library is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Keep power cords for devices away from walking areas to prevent safety hazards
  • Illegal activity is prohibited
  • If you move furniture, return it to its original location
