Genres
| A genre is a specific type of artistic endeavor with certain identified characteristics. In music, examples of genres would be jazz, rock, and salsa. In literature, for adults, some genres are science fiction, romance, and biography. As related to children's literature, genres are not a perfect way to group various types of books, but it does help to put items in these categories for study.
